Missing teeth can affect more than your smile
Whether you have recently lost a tooth, have lived with a gap for some time, or are looking for an alternative to removable dentures, we can help you understand your choices. Your consultation is about finding the option that fits your oral health, priorities and circumstances.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once the area has healed, the implant can support a replacement tooth or restoration.
Your implant journey
- Consultation — talk through your concerns, goals, medical history and available options.
- Assessment & planning — appropriate examinations and imaging are used to assess suitability and plan treatment.
- Implant placement — the implant is placed according to the agreed treatment plan.
- Healing — time is allowed for the implant to integrate before the final restoration is completed.
- Final restoration & aftercare — the replacement is fitted and ongoing maintenance is explained.

Understanding the Cost of Implant Treatment
The cost depends on the number of teeth being replaced, the treatment required and whether any additional procedures are needed. Following assessment, we will provide a personalised treatment plan explaining the recommended treatment and costs.
FAQs
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Most patients with good general and gum health are suitable candidates. Your consultation will confirm this, including whether you have enough jawbone density. We may request a CBCT scan to get a clear indication of bone mass. If the scan shows loss of bone, we can discuss bone grafting options with you.
How long does implant treatment take?
The whole process, from consultation to your secure fixed replacement teeth, can take several months. Done in the practice, the implants themselves need around 3+ months to heal and integrate with the bone before we secure the permanent crown.
What does implant treatment feel like?
Implants are placed under local anaesthetic, and sedation is available for anxious patients. Most patients report only mild discomfort afterwards, manageable with standard painkillers.
